Ricky Gervais is a thoroughly nice bloke with a cracking sense of humour. He’s also a great philanthropist, but because of his propensity for being an irritating twonk sometimes, his charitable donations usually come with a caveat.
This time, he’s willing to donate £5,000 to charity if his comic friend Robin Ince is willing to dress up like a kitten and have Gervais do this to him:
It’s a Lose-Lose situation for Robin. Either he does it and ridicules himself in the process, or people may die.
Let’s introduce a little Win into this situation for Robin. We’ve been raising money for the awesome Child’s Play charity – last year we managed to raise over $1000, but this year we’re striving for more.
For various reasons (which I’ve actually forgotten) we’re operating in dollars. However, if we get this donation bar to $7567.50, that’ll mean we’ve raised £5001 since Ricky Gervais’ challenge to Robin…
AND IF THAT HAPPENS, WE’RE HOPING GERVAIS WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND LET ROBIN DRESS HIM UP AS A KITTEN.
Donate to our Child’s Play charity fundraiser, even if it’s only a dollar, and help Robin get one over on our offensively rich friend…
… Kindness, afterall, is magic.
(The donation bar updates in real time. No registration required. All donations go directly to Child’s Play.)

Seeing an awful lot of tweetin', and not a lot of donatin'. Get it going, people!
